Nannies carry massive responsibility for their job. You have to care for children. Keeping children healthy is no easy task. First and foremost, you need to protect them physically. There’s a lot involved in this:

  • Emergency Plans
  • Abuse Awareness
  • Water Safety
  • And So Much More To Worry About…

But physical safety is not all. Children also need emotional and intellectual training. The thing is, you don’t want just to set some homework in front of them. Sure, there is a time and place for getting your kids to do their school work. However, part of what you can do as a nanny is to help the kids have a good time (and sneak in a little bit of learning on the side).

How can nannies build good relationships with their kids? Find out HERE.

In reality, playtime is essential for your kid’s emotional health. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics:

🙶 Play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and youth… Despite the benefits derived from play for [children], time for free play has been markedly reduced for some children.❞ – (AAPPublications.org)

As a nanny, you may either add to the problem or help to alleviate it. But, sometimes, the problem is coming up with fun activities to do with your kiddos. One of the things I’ve been working on is making a list of boredom busters for you to use with your little ones. Check out our Boredom Busters page for a comprehensive list of activities to make playtime a little bit easier and educational.

Check out our full list of BOREDOM BUSTERS HERE.

As of now, we have 20 boredom busters posted in five different categories. Soon, we’re going to have a lot more up. Check back regularly at OhSoSimply.com/boredom-busters or follow us on Pinterest.
